Some Liverpool fans on Twitter are expecting to see Sadio Mane back in Jurgen Klopp’s first XI for the trip to West Bromwich Albion this evening.
Mane, a £30 million signing in 2016, made headlines on Thursday night for refusing to shake the Liverpool manager’s hand after a 4-2 win away to Manchester United.
The Reds boss had left him out of his starting lineup and the former Southampton winger only wound up playing 16 minutes of his team’s biggest game of the season.
This is another massive clash and you couldn’t blame the German if he continued with a three-pronged attack of Diogo Jota, Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino, considering the trio scored all four goals at Old Trafford in midweek.
But some Liverpool fans on social media believe that Klopp will recall the Senegal international to his first XI today.
Here’s what they’re saying:
Should the Liverpool boss start Mane? In a word, no.
This is a must-win game for the Anfield club and why change a winning formula just four days after their best result of the campaign?
Nobody’s doubting Mane’s ability, but he’s been bang out of form for most of the season and looks quite low on confidence.
And therefore, Klopp should absolutely stick with Jota, Firmino and Salah.
