What a talent Liverpool have in Rhian Brewster.
The 20-year-old marksman was kept by Jurgen Klopp last summer as a ready-made replacement for Daniel Sturridge.
But a lack of game time saw him move to Swansea City on loan in January – and what an inspired transfer that’s proving for the Liverpool academy product.
Brewster has scored 10 goals in 19 Championship starts for the Welsh club – and he saved the best for last.
The young marksman opened the scoring in last night’s win over Reading, unleashing an unstoppable drive from some 30 yards as City wound up qualifying for the playoffs.
It was a reminder that Liverpool have a true gem on their hands and here’s how fans of the Anfield club reacted to his latest strike on Twitter.
It’ll be fascinating to see if Klopp loans him out again next season or whether he keeps him in the first team.
Divock Origi has only played a bit-part role in Liverpool winning the Premier League title, so it wouldn’t be a huge surprise if the Belgian – who was ahead of Brewster in the pecking order during the first half of the campaign – winds up leaving and that could benefit the Melwood prodigy in a big way.
