West Ham fans have taken to Twitter to heap praise on Vladimir Coufal, following his display in the 2-1 win over Leeds on Friday night.

The Czech Republic international – who signed for £5.5 million from Slavia Prague in the summer – helped the Hammers pick up a fourth Premier League win in five games.

Coufal defended admirably to shackle the likes of Raphinha, Rodrigo and Jack Harrison, while also being brave enough to get forward himself.

One second-half delivery, which saw Fabian Balbuena force a good save from Illan Meslier, was a particularly eye-catching piece of end product.

According to SofaScore, the 28-year-old completed three successful tackles against Marcelo Bielsa’s side, while also recording three clearances.

Coufal – who earns £30,769-a-week – also won five aerial duels out of an attempted six, as well as four of the five ground duels he was involved in.

Going forward, the right-back registered two key passes – the cross for Balbuena going down as a ‘big chance’ created – while he also had 45 touches.
