Harry Kane is having a poor start to his Premier League campaign.
There’s no doubt about it. We’re in October and the striker has failed to find the back of the net in the league, and when you’re the reigning Golden Boot winner, that’s simply not good enough.
However, there’s reason to believe that his season could be about to spark into life.
Indeed, as with many strikers, Kane’s ongoing problems may have just been a crisis of confidence, but on Thursday evening, he may have had the confidence boost he’s been waiting for all season.
Kane came off the bench against NS Mura to score a hat-trick in just 20 minutes. He looked back to his best and he was playing with a smile on his face.
Sometimes, you just need one good performance to ignite your season, and this may end up being the moment everything clicks for Kane.
Other strikers have gone through similar patterns. Just look at Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang for example, he had been in poor form for quite some time before he banged in a hat-trick against West Brom earlier this season, and since then, he’s come to life.
The Gabonese striker looks back to his best, he’s netted two goals in his last three games, and his all-around performances have really come on.

Perhaps more importantly, Aubameyang looks to be playing without any pressure on his shoulders, and now that Kane has proven that he’s still got what it takes to dominate a game, the shackles may be off.
As good as he is, it’s not ridiculous to suggest that he’s a bit of a confidence player, just look at his first few performances at Euro 2020, he was incredibly flat before he got his goal against Germany, and after that, he came alive.
Kane has been described as ‘brilliant’ in the past, and after his hat-trick in the Europa Conference League he could end up getting back to his best.
