Tony Casarino has written in The Times that the signing of Leandro Trossard is another instance of Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal proving their detractors wrong.
The former Chelsea player has been hugely impressed by Trossard, who joined Arsenal from Premier League rivals Brighton and Hove Albion in the January transfer window.
The winger provided all three assists for Arsenal in their 3-0 win against Fulham in the London derby this past weekend.
The win at Craven Cottage in London on Sunday means that the Gunners continue to march on towards the Premier League title.
Tony Cascarino on Arsenal winger Leandro Trossard
Cascarino wrote: “When Arsenal started their charge at the top of the table one of the problems that people said would hold them back was that they didn’t have a strong squad.
“They had a good starting XI but there wasn’t sufficient squad depth to mount a title challenge.
“But this is just another instance of Arteta’s Arsenal proving people wrong. The signing of Leandro Trossard has been brilliant.

“Not only does he provide cover for a number of positions but also he’s given Arsenal another way of playing with this fluid front line alongside Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli — they’ve gelled quickly.
“Add to that the signing of Jorginho and the impact made by Reiss Nelson, who scored that late winner against Bournemouth. Instead of costing them the title, squad depth could help Arsenal win it.”
Smart signing
In our view, Leandro Trossard has been a very smart signing for Arsenal.
The winger knows the Premier League inside out, and he has been able to make an immediate impact at the Gunners.
The 28-year-old winger has scored one goal and given five assists in five Premier League starts for the Gunners.
Arsenal are at the top of the Premier League table at the moment with 66 points from 27 matches.
The Gunners are five points clear of second-placed and defending champions Manchester City.
