There’s no doubt about it, Harry Kane isn’t having his best season.
He has just one Premier League goal to his name and at times he’s looked a shadow of his former self this term.
However, it’s the dawning of a new era at Tottenham Hotspur. Antonio Conte is Spurs’ new boss and things could be about to change for Kane and every other player at the club.
In fact, if there’s one player who could benefit most from Conte’s influence, it’s Kane.
Indeed, Conte has a history of transforming a striker’s fortunes.
The Italian took over at Chelsea when the Blues were going through a tough period. Diego Costa was in poor form after a difficult 2015/16 season, but in Conte’s debut campaign, the Brazilian was back to his best, hitting 20 goals.
Granted, the pair did fall out that summer and Costa never played for Chelsea again, but that doesn’t change the fact that Conte re-invigorated the striker for one season.
Perhaps a more notable success story was the work Conte did with Romelu Lukaku at Inter Milan.

The Belgian had been written off at Manchester United towards the end of his Old Trafford career, but he would hit 47 league goals in two seasons under Conte at San Siro.
It’s fair to say that the Italian worked his magic on Lukaku, and that’s because the Belgian was willing to completely buy into the manager’s philosophy.
Lukaku even went as far as to say that he’d die for Conte, and that’s what Kane needs to do.
Forget about his aspirations of playing for Manchester City or getting a big-money move. Kane needs to recognise that he’s now working under one of the world’s best coaches and buy into this exciting project at the club he developed at.
If Kane can give his everything under Conte, there’s no reason why the striker who was labelled as ‘brilliant’ by Frank Lampard, can’t enjoy a Lukaku-esque renaissance after a poor start to the season.
