Newcastle United kicked off the Eddie Howe era of the club with an enthralling encounter against Brentford at St. James Park. And Joelinton stole the show for the Toon.
The 2019 Steve Bruce signing put on one his best displays in the Premier League since arriving from Germany two years ago. With the former Hoffenheim striker bagging a goal and causing the west London side problems all game.
The Brazilian forward has long been regarded as one of Newcastle’s poorest signings in recent memory, however, Joelinton was one of the best players on the pitch as the Magpies drew 3-3 with Brentford.
Despite being confined to a hotel room due to COVID-19, Howe’s impact on Newcastle appears to be working already as the northeast side secured a point against Brentford.
Indeed, whilst Newcastle remain bottom of the Premier League, there’s a newfound confidence and hope surrounding the club, and Joelinton’s performance on Saturday was a testament to that statement.
As the right-sided attacker in a 3-4-3 formation, Joelinton had a game to remember. And on social media, Newcastle fans were buzzing with the attacker’s display against Brentford.
