Most Arsenal players failed to impress against Wolves yesterday, but Roy Keane did reserve some praise for Gabriel, when speaking on Sky Sports, during their live coverage.

Arsenal sunk to a 2-1 defeat at the Emirates Stadium, and they could have few complaints about the full time result.

Mikel Arteta’s side were second best, and did not manage to even have a shot on target in the second half, as they chased the game.

Arsenal’s performance was widely criticised at full-time, with many of their players coming in for a great deal of criticism.

But the famously hard-to-please Keane did actually have some positive words to say about Gabriel.

The Arsenal centre-back scored the Gunners’ goal with a powerful header in the first-half.

And Keane said: “This is a great delivery and we’re talking about putting balls into the right areas and wanting to head the ball.

“This is a brilliant, brilliant header. Gabriel has wanted it more. He’s against four players. People are pulling his jersey, but he has shown great determination.”

Gabriel has been one of the shining lights over Arsenal’s season so far, with his performances earning a great deal of praise.

The 22-year-old has slotted into Arsenal’s defence seamlessly, and looks to have been a magnificent signing.

Despite his impact, Arsenal have still badly struggled for results this term – and currently sit in 14th place in the Premier League table.
