Joao Felix was one of the most discussed players during the January transfer window as the Premier League’s elite courted the Atletico Madrid attacker.

Indeed, Arsenal, Manchester United and Chelsea were all in for Felix in the winter transfer window.

In the end, Felix made a highly-anticipated move to Chelsea on loan during the window, but the Portuguese forward is yet to taste victory with his new club, 51 days after signing.

The so-called ‘brilliant’ attacker had been courted by both Chelsea and Arsenal, but ultimately chose to join the Blues.

However, his arrival at Stamford Bridge has not had the desired impact, as Chelsea have failed to win any of the five games in which Felix has featured.

The 23-year-old has himself looked very bright in certain games, but a complete lack of cohesion under Graham Potter is stifling his abilities.

On the other hand, Arsenal have been flying high at the top of the Premier League and look like strong contenders for the title this season.

The Gunners have been led by the exceptional performances of their young forward line, including Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli, who have been in scintillating form, and we can’t help but believe that Felix is looking on with envy at this point.

Felix’s lack of success at Chelsea, of course, leads to questions about whether he made the right decision in snubbing Arsenal.

The Gunners’ fast-paced attacking style would have suited the Portuguese forward, who has showcased his ability to be deadly in transitions as well as on the ball.

It remains to be seen whether Felix can turn things around at Chelsea and help them get back to winning ways. The Blues will need to start picking up points if they want to salvage anything from this season and make the most of the time Felix has at Stamford Bridge.

Ultimately, Felix’s decision to join Chelsea over Arsenal may prove to be a mistake as he suffers in mid-table rather than being in contention for a Premier League winners’ medal.
