Ian Wright has praised Arsenal central defender Ben White on Match of the Day on BBC One (10:37pm, March 4, 2023) for his goal against Bournemouth at the Emirates Stadium in North London in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.

The Arsenal legend believes that White’s strike was “brilliant”, as the Gunners launched a stunning comeback.

Mikel Arteta’s side got the better of Bournemouth 3-2 at home in the Premier League.

Arsenal were 2-0 down at one stage, but the North London club staged a comeback in the second half and picked up all three points from the encounter courtesy of a 3-2 victory.

White did not start the match for the Gunners.

The England international right-back came on as a substitute at half time for Takehiro Tomiyasu, who had really struggled in the opening 45 minutes.

The 25-year-old former Leeds United loanee scored in the 70th minute.

Reiss Nelson provided a deep cross, and White struck it first time.

And former Arsenal striker Wright was impressed.

Wright said: “Ben White, that is a brilliant finish from there.”

Big win for Arsenal

In our view, Arsenal’s win against Bournemouth was massive.

The players showed massive character in getting back from 2-0 down to win the game 3-2.

And it was fully deserved.

Arsenal are still at the top of the Premier League table and remain on course to winning the title.
