Gary Lineker has taken to Twitter to heap praise on Mohamed Salah, after the Liverpool forward scored a ‘brilliant’ goal against AC Milan.

What’s the story?

Well, the BBC Match of the Day host was left impressed after watching the 29-year-old score against the Italian giants inside the San Siro.

Salah netted the equaliser for Liverpool in the 36th minute, after ex-Chelsea man Fikayo Tomori had given AC Milan the lead in the 29th minute.

It was an instinctive strike, one which the 73-cap Egypt international made to look far easier than it actually was.

You can see what Lineker thought of that 36th minute moment below.

Clearly, the BBC Match of the Day host is a big fan of the Liverpool No.11, and why wouldn’t he be? Salah is a joy to watch right now, to say the least.

Mohamed Salah on course to win Ballon d’Or with Liverpool

At this point of Salah’s 44-goal campaign in 2017/18, the ex-Roma forward had scored 17 goals.

After last night’s effort, Salah is now on 20 goals, which he’s managed to score in just 21 appearances while also providing nine assists.

In our view, that’s remarkable.

Salah is on course for his best season ever, whereas Liverpool are on course to win the Champions League and the Premier League.

If Salah can surpass 44 goals, and lift at least one of these trophies, he would surely be a shoe-in for the 2022 Ballon d’Or.

Unless he suffers an injury, we see no reason why Liverpool’s talisman can’t go on to do just that.
