Gary Lineker has taken to Twitter to react after Liverpool posted footage of Virgil van Dijk welcoming Mohamed Salah back to the AXA Training Centre.

What’s the story?

Well, earlier today, Liverpool posted footage of Salah walking out for his first training session since suffering heartbreak at the Africa Cup of Nations.

The Egypt international doesn’t even look up as he runs out onto the grass, seemingly in no mood to smile for the cameras.

Van Dijk, on the other hand, appears to be in a good mood as he jubilantly exclaims “he’s back, he’s back, the main man” as he jogs out for training.

Lineker enjoyed the footage, and the BBC Match of the Day host made a point of saying just how good Salah must be for a player of Van Dijk’s quality to call him the “main man”.

You can see the 61-year-old’s tweet in full below.

Hopefully, Van Dijk’s positively doesn’t wind Salah up, as he looked in no mood to be smiling after suffering heartbreak on Sunday.

Mohamed Salah could fire Liverpool to glory

In our view, Jürgen Klopp is about to see another side to Salah.

You could see how emotionally invested he was in winning the Africa Cup of Nations, as he was already in tears before Sadio Mane ensured Senegal won the trophy.

Now, we feel Salah will be determined to put it behind him by winning everything in sight.

The ex-Chelsea man has a winning mentality, and is a true professional – he will want to bounce back from Sunday’s final in style.

That should frighten the rest of the Premier League, as Salah was a complete and utter menace even before defeat in Cameroon.

Hopefully, the 29-year-old will fire the Reds to trophies in 2022.
