Gary Lineker has taken to Twitter to heap praise on James Maddison and Wesley Fofana, after Leicester held Roma to a 1-1 draw in the UEFA Conference League.
Their fine performances come after The Sun claimed that Arsenal and Tottenham are interested in signing Maddison, whereas Eddie Howe is hoping to bring Fofana to Newcastle, according to RMC Sport.
What’s the story?
Well, Lineker – who supports Leicester – was in attendance at the King Power Stadium to watch Brendan Rodgers and José Mourinho go head to head.
The Foxes equalised through Ademola Lookman in the second half, after Lorenzo Pellegrini had opened the scoring in the 15th minute.
Lineker was impressed by the display, and pinpointed the performances of two “brilliant footballers” Maddison and Fofana – you can see his tweet below.
According to The Sun, Mikel Arteta and Antonio Conte will have to stump up £60m if they want to sign Maddison.
So far this season, the England international has scored 14 goals in 48 appearances, while also providing nine assists – a fine return, to say the least.
Arsenal & Tottenham have hope, but Newcastle will struggle

In our view, the Gunners and Spurs have a good chance of signing Maddison this summer, with Leicester open to cashing in – according to The Sun.
However, Newcastle look likely to struggle in their pursuit of Fofana, after the Frenchman signed a new contract with Leicester.
The 21-year-old has penned a five-year deal with the Foxes, so he won’t be going anywhere until 2027 unless someone stumps up a huge offer.

Having said that, if any side in Europe can afford to make outrageous bids, it’s Newcastle.
The Magpies are now owned by the Public Investment Fund of Saudi Arabia, and have the resources to sign pretty much any player they want.
Therefore, a massive offer for Fofana certainly shouldn’t be ruled out.
