Speaking in the latest copy of FourFourTwo Magazine (May 2022, page 67), Dani Alves has been full of praise for his Barcelona teammate and reported Tottenham Hotspur target Adama Traore.
Spurs were apparently very close to signing Traore in January, but the winger ended up heading back to Catalonia on loan.
However, despite missing out in the winter, reports have recently emerged stating that Spurs haven’t given up on the prospect of bringing Traore to the club, and a summer move has been touted.
Traore has been performing brilliantly over in Spain, and he’s even caught the eye of one of the greatest right-backs of all-time.
What’s been said?
Alves spoke about Traore and how much he’s improved since his first spell at Barca.
“Well, Adama has similar characteristics to that boy I met here all those years ago. He was always a strong guy. He has obviously improved a lot, and it’s brilliant to see him back with us because his pace and dribbling abilities are a permanent threat. He knows how to use his body to protect the ball and he’s excellent in one-on-one situations. It’s great to see the footballer he has become,” Alves said.

Perfect description
There’s a reason Alves is one of the all-time greats, and that’s partially because he knows how to judge a player.
The Brazilian’s description of Traore is so apt. The Spaniard has improved a lot, his pace and dribbling are his standout attributes, and his use of his body is brilliant.
Traore has been ripping it up in Spain, but we still can’t help but feel that he should be playing in the Premier League as his attributes are so well-suited to English football.
