Everton fans have taken to Twitter to react after the Sunday Mirror revealed that Newcastle will be signing Celtic’s Kristoffer Ajer.
The report claims that the 23-year-old will be joining the Magpies for £6 million – if so, that would be an absolute bargain.
Judging by the reaction below, the Everton fans are pretty jealous of this news.
Their jealously is not entirely unfounded.
According to Tutto Mercato Web, Everton are actually interested in signing the 21-cap Norway international themselves.
Southampton and Manchester United are also said to be interested, according to the Italian news outlet.
Now, however, it looks like Celtic will lose their towering No.35 in a deal which has the potential to be one of the summer’s best bargains.

You could argue that Everton don’t need a new centre-back.
The Toffees already have Ben Godfrey, Mason Holgate, Yerry Mina and Michael Keane in that department.
However, for just £6 million, Everton have to try and muscle in on the Ajer deal.
At 23, the Norwegian has so much room for improvement, and is already looking like a colossal force in Scotland.
Put it this way – if he goes on to have the same impact Virgil van Dijk had after swapping Celtic for the Premier League, Everton will be kicking themselves.
While he’s still yet to be pictured holding up the black and white stripes, Everton must see what they can do.
