Speaking on Peter Crouch’s Podcast, Aaron Ramsdale has been discussing Cedric Soares, Martin Odegaard and their relationship with Mikel Arteta.
The goalkeeper says that both Odegaard and Cedric are a pair of teacher’s pets, using the term ‘parched’ to describe them as he says they’re always speaking to the manager while everyone else is having a drinks break.
Ramsdale says that Cedric fancies himself as something of a future manager, claiming that the full-back believes he’s the next Pep Guardiola.
What’s been said?
Ramsdale spoke about Odegaard, Cedric and Arteta.
“I don’t know what they are saying because they speak Spanish.
“The day after a game he [Arteta] will speak to most people in English. Maybe one of the two of the lads who’s English isn’t perfect [he’ll speak to in foreign languages].
“But Martin’s English is perfect and he’s speaking Spanish! How parched. And I’ll tell you who is another parched, Cedric Soares, he thinks he’s a future Pep. Brilliant.”

Next in line
Mikel Arteta learnt his craft from Pep Guardiola and now he’s the Arsenal manager, and it seems as though Cedric wants to follow in his footsteps.
The fact that the full-back is already trying to soak up all of this information probably bodes well for his post-playing career, and who knows? Perhaps he could be a future Arsenal manager one day.
Of course, that’s all pie in the sky at the moment, we don’t know anything about Cedric’s plans once he eventually retires, but if Ramsdale says that the defender thinks he’s the next Guardiola, he could be one to watch out for in years to come.
