When looking at Glenn Murray’s goal tally, it’s hard to say he is not underrated for Brighton & Hove Albion.
For years now Glenn Murray has been quietly going about his business in the lower leagues with Brighton & Hove Albion and Crystal Palace, with the 33-year-old not really getting the recognition he deserves. Now, with the Seagulls flying high, it is time to appreciate what the striker brings to the table.
At Palace, alot of the criticism directed towards Murray was that there was not any real skill behind the numbers he was producing. The forward was simply in the right place, at the right time.
Even if that is the case, the facts do not lie. Murray was instrumental in helping Palace reach the Premier League and what is often not talked about is his work away from the goalmouth.

He can hold up the ball, bring others into the game and generally lead a team from the front which is a hard quality to possess.
It seems as if it took a move to rivals Brighton to really grab everyone’s attention. Back down in the Championship the veteran has been able to form great partnerships at the club, experiencing yet another career rejuvenation.
There does not seem to be as much noise surrounding the Amex as there was at Selhurst Park, which could prove to spur Murray on even further. He’s more experienced now and knows his career is winding down, but that hasn’t stopped the former Eagles striker from maintaining that high standard of play.
