Brighton are working on a deal to sign Igor this summer.
According to Fabrizio Romanio, writing on his Twitter page, Brighton have agreed personal terms to sign Fiorentina defender Igor, but have yet to strike a deal with the Italian outfit. Brighton see Igor as a replacement for Levi Colwill in their squad, who spent last season on loan at the Amex Stadium from Chelsea.
Brighton were keen to bring in Colwill on a permanent basis in this transfer window, but their efforts in that regard seem to have been frustrated. The club now look set to give up the chase and pivot to an alternative target in Igor.
Despite handing club-captain Lewis Dunk a new contract, Roberto De Zerbi is clearly keen to strengthen his defence further this summer, and Igor could be on the verge of arriving.

Who is Igor?
Igor is a centre-back currently plying his trade with Fiorentina. He took a circuitous route to Italian football, having began his senior career in his native Brazil, before joining Red Bull Salzburg, then SPAL, after loan stints with Wolfsberger and Austria Wien. Now 25-years-old, Igor has been with Fiorentina, and has established himself as a fixture in the heart of their defence.
The 6’1” Brazilian is powerfully built, confident on the ball with his left foot, and looks ready to test himself at Premier League level. He may not have Colwill’s huge future potential, but he would be an interesting addition to De Zerbi’s squad, capable of thriving amongst the likes of Dunk, Adam Webster, and Jan Paul van Hecke.
