Earlier today, Brighton recorded a 1-0 win over Tottenham in the Premier League, just a week after beating Arsenal 2-1 at the Emirates Stadium.

The Seagulls have conquered north London in just a matter of days, and now, their official Twitter account has posted a tweet which will wind up both Arsenal and Tottenham fans.

What’s the story?

Well, after stealing six points from north London, Brighton claimed that area of the globe as their own on Twitter, as you can see below.

Even the Arsenal fans, who have seen their hopes of reaching the Champions League boosted today, won’t like to see that.

It goes without saying that the person in charge of Brighton’s Twitter account is feeling quite cheeky today, to say the least.

In truth, the Seagulls can afford to poke fun at the Gunners and Spurs, having travelled to their backyards and embarrassed the pair of them.

Tottenham now have 57 points to their name after 32 games, and their loss to Graham Potter has opened the door for Mikel Arteta to capitalise.

Tottenham must forget Brighton defeat quickly

We’re not quite sure what happened to Tottenham earlier today, but Antonio Conte will surely be furious.

His side had previously embarked on a run of four wins in a row, but that in-form team was unrecognisable against Brighton.

As WhoScored shows, Brighton had more possession with 52%, and also had 12 shots to Tottenham’s five.

It was, quite frankly, a pathetic display from Spurs, and if they want to qualify for the Champions League, they cannot afford to play like this again.

With six Premier League games remaining, it will be interesting to see how quickly Tottenham can put this embarrassing defeat behind them.
