Tottenham are a dangerous animal after a poor run of results.
Brighton manager Chris Hughton has claimed his side will need a repeat of the performance they put in to beat Manchester United to get the better of Tottenham at the weekend.
The Seagulls have already defeated Man United 3-2 at the Amex in the Premier League this season and their current attention is on facing Spurs on Saturday.
Spurs go into the match on the back of three consecutive defeats across all competitions and have a lot of pressure on them to turn around their mini slump.
Manager Mauricio Pochettino is enduring a tough spell of late, but will be backing his talented group of players to return to form at the weekend.
Hughton, who enjoyed a great career at Spurs as a player, is wary that the North London club are going to end their losing streak soon, but has backed his side to cause them problems if they are at their best.
“I think Spurs are on the back of three defeats and that generally doesn’t happen, and of course that will stop at some stage because of the quality they’ve got,” Hughton told talkSPORT reporter Ian Abrahams.
“If we are as competitive [against Spurs] as what we were against the top-six team Manchester United at home a few weeks ago, it gives us a chance.
“But we are realistic and most people will still have Tottenham to win the game because of the quality they’ve got.”
There are a number of Spurs players that are yet to hit top form so far this season and centre-forward Harry Kane is someone receiving widespread criticism.
But he scored in his last match against Brighton and the England captain has proven he is far from a one-season wonder.
