Brighton & Hove Albion are quietly going under the radar in the Championship right now as they attempt to mastermind another push for promotion. The last few seasons have seen them come close but not quite make it over the line, however with so much attention focused on other sides they may well sneak into the top two come the end of the campaign.

As reported by The Argus, goalkeeper David Stockdale has stated that he will continue to take calculated risks with the ball at his feet.

The 31-year-old was criticised by some for failing to control a tricky back pass that allowed Jordan Hugill to score in the 2-2 draw with Preston, however he more than made up for that by making two high quality saves in the narrow 1-0 victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers.

“The manager knows what type of goalkeeper I am.” Stockdale said to The Argus.

“Sometimes I take more risks than others but I can name a lot more times I’ve got out of it than I have made mistakes.

“If he wants me to stop playing like that, he will tell me and I’ll stop. When I’m under pressure I’m not stupid enough to start doing Cruyff turns in my six yard box.”

The Seagulls find themselves sitting comfortably in third following the first 13 league games of the season and with a strong manager coinciding with a squad full of potential, things are looking positive.

Their next game comes this weekend when they travel to the DW Stadium to face struggling Wigan Athletic.
