Joshua Duffus is staying at Brighton and Hove Albion despite receiving interest from the likes of Aston Villa and Tottenham Hotspur.

Tottenham will have their eyes on a number of young players for the future.

Striker Will Lankshear is a great example as he joined Tottenham before the summer deadline having impressed with Sheffield United.

Tottenham need to add more young prospects for the years to come but they appear to have missed out on one target.

Joshua Duffus is staying at Brighton

TEAMtalk reported earlier this week that Tottenham had shown a real interest in luring Joshua Duffus away from Brighton and Hove Albion.

Aston Villa and Fulham were also understood to be interested in signing Duffus.

The former Crystal Palace prospect predominantly plays as an attacking midfielder and has already featured in Premier League 2.

Duffus has bagged a goal and an assist in two Under-18 Premier League games this season according to Transfermarkt.

An England Under-17 international with a bright future ahead of him, Duffus has now made a big decision.

Duffus has committed his future to Brighton and signed a first professional deal with the Seagulls, putting an end to the speculation.

Duffus has now taken to Twitter to celebrate his contract, admitting that is ‘a proud moment’ for him and his family.

The teenager certainly has plenty of inspiration as he attempts to become a first-team player at Brighton.

Lewis Dunk and Solly March are both first-team players at Brighton having come through the club’s ranks.

Then there is Ben White, who emerged into the Brighton first team before being sold for big money to Arsenal.

Duffus could be another success story from the Brighton ranks and you can be sure that Tottenham will be keeping close tabs on his progress.
