Brighton and Crystal Palace are now closely monitoring Celtic talent Mitchel Frame – who Tottenham are also keen to sign.
The Daily Record believe Brighton have scouted the 17-year-old, although they face competition from rivals Crystal Palace for the teenage Celtic wonderkid.
If Frame does end up leaving Parkhead, Celtic would be in line to receive a “significant” fee.
What’s the story?
Well, the Scotland Under-17 international is currently starring for his country at the UEFA Under-17 European Championship in Hungary, where he dazzled in a 3-1 defeat to France on Thursday.
Frame assisted Rory Wilson for Scotland’s goal in front of Brighton scouts, according to the Daily Record.
In total, the Scottish prodigy has won nine caps for his country at that level.
The Seagulls will continue to watch the left back in Saturday’s clash with Portugal and the encounter against Germany on Tuesday, although Crystal Palace are also watching him closely.
This update comes after Football Scotland claimed that Tottenham are also interested in luring Frame away from Celtic.
Celtic will be compensated if Mitchel Frame leaves
As aforesaid, Celtic would receive a “significant” fee if Frame leaves Glasgow, according to the Daily Record.
An exact figure is not mentioned, although it is said that the Bhoys would be in line to earn a six-figure compensation sum for their work in developing the teenage defender.
Of course, that will not entirely soften the blow of losing an exceptional talent, although it will ease the pain slightly for Ange Postecoglou.
Football Scotland add that Wolves are also keen on signing Frame – the fact that four strong Premier League sides are sniffing around just goes to show what a fantastic prospect Celtic have on their hands.
