- EXCLUSIVE from Graeme Bailey
HITC understands that Brighton & Hove Albion are continuing talks with Fenerbahce over a move for left-back Ferdi Kadioglu.
Fabian Hurzeler was appointed as manager of Brighton & Hove Albion earlier this summer after Roberto De Zerbi decided to depart the AMEX Stadium this summer.
In the summer transfer window, Brighton have been busy in the summer transfer window with the Seagulls signing Feyenoord’s Mats Wieffer and have also brought in Newcastle United winger Yankuba Minteh.
A new left-back now looks to be one of the targets for Brighton this summer with Turkish defender Ferdi Kadioglu the club’s top target for that role.

Brighton continuing talks for Ferdi Kadioglu
We had reported last week that Brighton were continuing talks with Fenerbahce for Ferdi Kadioglu, with a deal mooted for around £30 million.
HITC understands that personal terms are in place between Kadioglu and Brighton ahead of a move to the South Coast club this summer.
During Euro 2024, Kadioglu was exceptional and Arsenal were encouraged to sign the Turkish defender but it appears Brighton are the favourites for the deal.
Earlier this year, HITC reported that Tottenham and Wolves were keen on Kadioglu, who was priced at just £17 million but after a brilliant tournament in Germany this summer, his valuation has now seemingly nearly doubled to the £30 million mark.
They are progressing to the extent that we understand Brighton have told Argentine youngster Valentin Barco that he can leave the club on loan.
Barco joined Brighton back in February of 2024 from Boca Juniors with the Argentine signing a four-and-a-half-year deal at the South Coast club.
Barco attracting loan interest from multiple clubs
HITC understands that La Liga side Sevilla are one of the clubs keen on bringing in Barco this summer on a loan deal.
As well as Sevilla, there are understood to be clubs in England, Germany, Italy France and other clubs in Spain are keen on loaning in the Argentine defender.
When the Argentine signed for Brighton, as per the BBC, the club’s technical director David Weir described the defender as an ‘exciting prospect’.
With the potential addition of Kadioglu on the cards, Barco and his representatives are set to meet this week to decide on the player’s next move.
