The Brighton and Hove Albion chairman has told local media that under no circumstances will the Seagulls sell their best players.
Brighton and Hove Albion chairman Tony Bloom has told The Argus that the south-coast club will not sell any of their star players in January.
The Seagulls are currently second in the Championship table, three points behind leaders Newcastle United after a terrific start to the season and are flying under manager Chris Hughton, after winning for their fourth consecutive match last weekend when they beat Bristol City 2-0.
Results have meant that some of Brighton’s key players have been linked with a move in January and The Argus report that Burnley are ready to reignite their interest in midfielder Dale Stephens, who they failed to land in the summer after six attempts, with the latest worth over £8 million, the newspaper claims.

And chairman Bloom has reiterated to Seagulls fans that under no circumstances will the club be selling any players that they do not wish to let go, when the window re-opens in the New Year.
Bloom is quoted by The Argus stating: “It was tougher to keep the squad together in the summer, because that’s when a lot of business happens.
“We are doing really well in the table, so we are not going to sell any players that we do not wish to sell in January.”

The Brighton chairman also commented on which position the club will be looking to strengthen and he hinted to The Argus that they may sign a striker.
He said: “We were the highest scorers last season. I know our defensive record stands out this season, because we have got the best record by far, but we have scored a decent amount of goals and our strikers are very good. But it could be an area that we strengthen.”
