A move for Brighton’s Moises Caicedo seems inevitable this summer, but his destination remains to be seen.
According to TalkSport, Liverpool may enter the race to sign Brighton midfielder Moises Caicedo in this transfer window, if Fabinho and Jordan Henderson complete their mooted moves away from Anfield. Fabinho and Henderson have both been linked with switches to Saudo Arabian sides in recent days. Fabinho has been left out of Jurgen Klopp’s pre-season training camp, and Liverpool club-captain Henderson has agreed personal terms with El Ettifaq.
Up until this point, Chelsea seemed to have all but secured Caicedo’s services for themselves. If Liverpool do come forward as genuine suitors though, it could transform the whole landscape of this deal. Brighton will be hoping that the Reds do make a move, as that is a situation they can use to their advantage.

How Brighton can make the most of Caicedo’s exit
If Liverpool make an offer for Caicedo, Brighton can use this to instigate a bidding war between the two interested clubs. The Seagulls are already keen to recoup £100 million for the Ecuadorian, but competition between Chelsea and Liverpool could drive this price even higher.
We have already seen a very similar situation work to West Ham United’s benefit this summer. After Arsenal had already had two offers for Declan Rice rejected, a late bid from Manchester City forced the Gunners to set a transfer record of £105 million in order to get the deal done.
Roberto De Zerbi won’t want the Caicedo saga to drag on too long. There needs to be time for the coastal club to use the incoming cash to replace Caicedo, and there will be plenty of midfield targets De Zerbi is looking at. In the meantime though, Liverpool’s interest is a boon to Brighton that could lead to an even more handsome payday for the club.
