Brighton and Hove Albion midfielder Alexis Mac Allister has admitted that he wants to join a Premier League club with his next move.
Since winning the World Cup in December, Mac Allister has been linked with the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur.
Mac Allister has been speaking to TyC Sports over in his native Argentina.
Mac Allister admitted that he likes a number of Premier League teams amid questions over his Brighton future.
The 24-year-old spoke of how he thinks Manchester City and Arsenal are ‘very strong’ and play good football, whilst he is familiar with how Chelsea boss Graham Potter wants to play.
Mac Allister added that Manchester United are getting back to their best and Liverpool are a ‘very important’ team.
There was no mention for Tottenham Hotspur there, which may not go down too well with Spurs fans.
Mac Allister did though admit that he wants to join another Premier League club with his next move, seemingly ruling out a move to Italy or Spain.
“I don’t have a particular team where I say ‘this is the way I play’,” said Mac Allister. “I think that here in the Premier League, there are very strong teams that play very well, like Manchester City and Arsenal, Chelsea too; I had Potter and I know the idea he has to play football. Manchester United is returning to be what it was and Liverpool are going through some ups and downs but they still have a very important team.”
“If I have to say a place, I would like my next step to be in the Premier League. But the truth is that I am very focused here in Brighton and enjoying the present,” he added.

Tottenham omitted by Alexis Mac Allister
Calcio Mercato Web claimed that Antonio Conte specifically asked Tottenham to sign Mac Allister for him.
That isn’t the best source but you can understand why Tottenham would want the Argentinian.
Tottenham don’t really have a midfield player with real guile and creativity going forward.
Mac Allister can provide that whilst his work rate off the ball would surely suit what Conte is seeking.
Mac Allister even played well out wide for Argentina at the World Cup and he appears to be a very smart player who can make an impact from anywhere.
Sadly for Spurs, Mac Allister didn’t name Tottenham in his list of potential destinations.
Maybe Mac Allister views Tottenham as a step down from those clubs, even though they’re above Chelsea and Liverpool this season.
Liverpool are keen according to the Daily Star as Jurgen Klopp chases midfield additions this summer.
Mac Allister will attract plenty of interest this summer but Tottenham may find this race a little tricky if the midfielder has his sights set elsewhere.
