Bright Osayi-Samuel scored Queens Park Rangers’ first goal in Saturday’s win over FC Union Berlin and looked dangerous throughout.

Queens Park Rangers midfielder Bright Osayi-Samuel has provided manager Steve McClaren with food for thought ahead of the season opener with Preston North End on Saturday.
The 20-year-old opened the scoring in QPR’s 3-0 win over FC Union Berlin and looked a constant threat to the German side. Samuel linked up well with Ebere Eze and Luke Freeman in particular and McClaren certainly has plenty to consider.
The Hoops have looked strong in pre-season, with the majority of the squad gaining valuable minutes and playing some positive football, McClaren will surely be wondering how he can best utilise Samuel.
The former Blackpool player was used predominantly as a substitute last season and McClaren will likely take the same approach, for the time being at least. But, after Saturday’s performance, the temptation is their to play Samuel from the off.
The Nigerian-born man offers pace and an attacking style that McClaren can use to QPR’s advantage. And, while he will need to nurture Samuel, the youngster is making all the right moves to force his way into the starting XI.
Saturday’s goal came after neat build-up play with Eze and, if Samuel can take his chances when provided this season, QPR could have unearthed another gem.
There is still a long way for Samuel to go to reach his full potential but, after Saturday’s goal and all-round performance, R’s fans can feel optimistic about the winger.
