UD Ibiza have confirmed that Leeds United loanee Mateusz Bogusz’s season is over after suffering a rather serious ACL injury.
Leeds loanees haven’t had the best of luck this season. Ian Poveda suffered a similar injury while out on loan at Blackburn, while other young Leeds loanees such as Ryan Edmondson have failed to make much of an impact this season.
Bogusz has torn his ACL, and he will require surgery to fix this issue.
As any football fan will know, an ACL injury is incredibly serious, and the midfielder could be out for as long as nine months with this issue.
It’s a real shame as well, because the young Polish star was really finding his feet over in Spain.
Indeed, he’d scored four goals and crafted seven assists for Ibiza this season, and one would have to imagine that he’d have been given a chance to impress Marcelo Bielsa in pre-season upon his return to Leeds.
Sadly though, this injury could even rule Bogusz out of the beginning of next season, robbing him of the chance to impress Bielsa in the summer, and perhaps even ruining the prospects of having another successful loan in 2022/23.
Fingers crossed Bogusz’s recovery goes well and he’s able to return to action at the earliest possible opportunity.
