Clinton Morrison has raved about Eddie Nketiah on Sky Sports News (23/09/20 at 9:55 pm) after he helped Arsenal knock Leicester City out of the League Cup on Wednesday night.
For the second game running, ‘ice-cold’ Nketiah found the back of the net for the thriving and currently confident Gunners, who scored two goals and secured a clean sheet against their Premier League rivals.
Nketiah has been one of the success stories under Mikel Arteta and a player who is making himself heard with his crucial goals.
Former Crystal Palace hitman, Morrison, stated that Nketiah has a ‘bright future’ ahead of him, but he made it clear that there is one area he needs to improve upon.
“He’s a young player who couldn’t make the grade at Leeds when he went on loan but he’s come back to Arsenal and he’s doing ever so well,” Morrison told Sky Sports. “Sometimes when the manager believes in you, he can get the best out of you.
“He’s a good player and you learn from players like Aubameyang. He’s got Lacazette, who is ahead of him. I like him. He knows that he needs to learn outside the box to be like a complete striker.
“But you know what I like about him, he always wants to get in there and score goals. He doesn’t need a lot of chances and when it comes to him, he’s ice cold. One of the best people who told me about that was Ian Wright. When you are in the box go ice cold. So, if Nketiah wants to ring up Ian Wright, I am sure he would give him advice. He has a bright future at that football club.”

Whilst Nketiah is yet to prove that he can add serious goalscoring consistency to his game, one thing he is showing to the world is that he can be efficient.
That is proving to be pretty helpful to Arteta, who is trying his utmost best to steer this Arsenal ship back to where it belongs.
Players like Nketiah will define the type of job the former midfielder can do because if the England U21 man can continue to improve then Arsenal will continue to rise under Arteta.
