The summer signing from French side Caen has made an immediate impact at the City Ground.
Samba has played a key role in Forest’s charge into the automatic promotion places.
Samba’s Forest sit second in the Championship, level on points with West Bromwich Albion at the top.
He has made seven starts and has kept clean sheets in three of his last five games, most recently in the 1-0 victory over Brentford before the international break.
Forest also signed Arijanet Muric on loan from Manchester City in the summer, and while he began in the season in goal, the team look better with Samba starting.
The job appears to be his now, and it is up to the Congolese stopper to hold onto it.
