The former Villa player and boss is pleased with Bruce’s impact at Villa Park.

Former Aston Villa player and manager Brian Little has been speaking about the appointment of Steve Bruce at his former club this week.

Bruce was appointed as Roberto Di Matteo’s successor last week in a move that courted some controversy over his former Birmingham City leanings.

However, he has proven himself a good appointment so far with an upturn in results and performances for Aston Villa since his arrival at Villa Park.

Speaking to Vital Football Little was clearly pleased that Bruce is the current manager at Aston Villa and backed him to continue improving results at the club:

“I really don’t know why anyone would disagree with Steve coming in, he probably has the best record of current managers in England and in Britain of certainly getting out teams of the Championship. I don’t think anyone has certainly complained, I think anyone who is complaining is doing so for the sake of being a voice…”

“He is a terrific manager and knows the league inside and it’s a great appointment for us at this stage in what has been a difficult season.”

Most Aston Villa fans have already been won over by the new manager with his City allegiances clearly put firmly in the past for the majority of the Villa faithful.

This weekend sees Villa take on Blackburn Rovers at Villa Park and they will be hoping to stretch their unbeaten run under Bruce and perhaps add a third win under his management after successes against Fulham and Reading.

If Villa can pick up another win then fans will start believing that they can make a push for the top six in the second half of the season.
