Canos lasted half a season at Norwich City before moving to Brentford.
Brentford’s Sergi Canos celebrates
Brentford winger Sergi Canos has criticised former club Norwich City over their lack of communication.
Norwich signed Canos from Liverpool last summer, off the back of an impressive campaign on loan to the Bees.
However, the Spaniard found game time hard to come by at Carrow Road, with Robbie Brady, Alex Pritchard and the Murphy twins, Jacob and Josh, all ahead of him in Alex Neil’s pecking order.
And Canos has told the Football League Paper he is not sure if he was even signed to play in the first team or not.
“I don’t know why it didn’t work out at Norwich, but I played only three league games in total,” said the former FC Barcelona prospect.
“I don’t know if they signed me to play for the U23s or they signed me to play for the first team. I don’t know, because nobody told me anything.
“The manager, Alex Neil, used to talk to me. I tried to ask him sometimes why I wasn’t playing and he said it was just because of the form of the team.
“But, by Christmas, I don’t think the team was in form. That’s in the past now, though.”
By transfer deadline day, Canos’ mind was seemingly made up, despite Brady’s simultaneous departure to Premier League Burnley.
With the pair gone, Norwich turned to Wigan Athletic winger Yanic Wildschut instead, however, results have been mixed in recent weeks, leaving the Canaries with seven points to make up on sixth-placed Sheffield Wednesday.

Canos did his bit to limit the deficit on Tuesday, though, helping Brentford to a 2-1 win against the Owls at Hillsborough.
