Going winless in March, Brentford faced a difficult spell as the end of the season approach, with Bees fans knowing they needed a drastic change in fortune.

And that turnaround came, as Brentford went into April and May winning all but two of their remaining nine fixtures, with Scott Hogan picking up the plaudits for his goals.

Finishing ninth, Brentford’s end of season turnaround had been fantastic, and Bees fans were feeling optimistic about the upcoming 16/17 season under Dean Smith.

Moving quickly to strengthen the squad over the summer, Brentford brought in 13 players in the transfer window, including Rotherham United’s Emmanuel Ledesma and Walsall’s Romaine Sawyers.

Starting the season in decent form, Brentford picked up 7 points from their first 5 Championship games, picking up wins against Ipswich Town and Nottingham Forest, the latter thanks to a goal from star striker, Scott Hogan.

However, Brentford have struggled to string together a run of wins this season despite some significant victories, such as the 5-0 win against Preston North End.

With their star man, Scott Hogan, now on many club’s January transfer lists, Brentford face a tough task at the turn of the year to keep hold of their main man. If they can, there’s no reason to think that Brentford can’t make a push for the play-offs, with one of the most talked about talents in the Championship leading the line.
