The Bees ran out 2-0 winners over the Whites in the Championship, dealing a huge automatic promotion blow to Marcelo Bielsa’s charges.

Brentford manager Thomas Frank has had his say on his side’s 2-0 win over Leeds United in Easter Monday’s Championship clash at Griffin Park.
The Bees gave their hopes of a top-half finish a huge boost while at the same time hugely denting the Whites’ automatic promotion hopes.
Neal Maupay fired the hosts in front in the first half, after Marcelo Bielsa’s side had earlier been controversially denied a penalty when Patrick Bamford was brought down by Julian Jeanvier.
The Elland Road side conceded again just after the hour mark when Sergi Canos tucked home and Bielsa’s boys could not muster a response as they slipped to three points behind second-placed Sheffield United with just two games to go.
Brentford remain unbeaten against Leeds this season, having picked up a 1-1 draw in the reverse fixture back in October – indeed, they were just a few minutes away from a victory at Elland Road but Pontus Jansson scored the Whites’ equaliser in the 88th minute.

When asked by Football London if he was happy with the result over Leeds, Frank replied: “Yes of course. Pleased with the performance, the win, the way we did it. It was a very good performance and a well deserved win. We knew we could press them high and create opportunities, we knew that from last time, and we scored the two goals.
Brentford had just 37 percent of possession against Leeds (BBC Sport) and when asked about this, the Dane responded: “We know that us and Leeds are the two teams with the most possession in the league. I am pleased we can win a game without having the most possession, you can do that by defending well and we did that very well.”
Up next for the Bees is a trip to Bolton Wanderers this coming Saturday, while Leeds host Aston Villa on Sunday.
