Brentford are now ready to open talks over a new deal for boss Thomas Frank after recent links with a move to Arsenal.

That’s according to TEAMtalk, who claim that Brentford are keen to tie the Dane down for a new more years yet.

Frank is described as being ‘more than happy’ with life at Brentford. The Bees subsequently hope to have a new deal agreed by the time 2022 rolls around.

TEAMtalk reported earlier this month that Arsenal admire Frank and would consider him if Mikel Arteta was to go.

Arteta found himself under pressure after the first three games of the season, but has now picked up three wins in a row.

The Spaniard doesn’t appear to be under immediate threat of the sack, but Arsenal had Frank in mind just in case.

Graham Potter was another option according to that report, but Frank was a particularly intriguing option having masterminded Brentford’s win over Arsenal on the opening day of the season.

Frank’s record and style of play

Frank, 47, has a long history of developing young players. His coaching start came with the Danish national team setup, working with their Under-16’s through to Under-19’s between 2008 and 2013.

After a stint at Brondby boss, Frank became Dean Smith’s assistant at Brentford – and then replaced him in 2018.

Frank is a bold and adventurous coach, bringing a progressive style of play to Brentford whilst boasting a 48% win rate.

Liverpool and Arsenal have both found Brentford difficult to play against this season, and keeping Frank would set Brentford up well for the future.
