Brentford will want to maintain their positive momentum from last season, and Keane Lewis-Potter will be desperate to play his part.

Since his arrival at Brentford from Hull City in 2022, Keane Lewis-Potter’s progress has been frustrated by injuries and competition for minutes. The Bees paid an initial £16 million – in a deal which could rise to £20 million – for Lewis Potter, in a deal that represented a club record fee at the time.

Since then however, the 22-year-old has managed just 10 Premier League appearances. This included just three starts. It would almost certainly have been more, but a knee injury took the forward out of action for the entire second half of the season. Lewis-Potter will be desperate to make up for lost time in the upcoming campaign.

What can Brentford fans expect from Keane Lewis-Potter?

Lewis-Potter came through the academy at Hull City and earned his move to the Gtech Community Stadium with his sparkling form for the Tigers. The youngster notched 30 goals in his 122 games across all competitions for Hull.

Of course, he faces plenty of stiff competition for a starting berth in Thomas Frank’s side, with the likes of Bryan Mbeumo and Yoane Wissa having already proven their quality in the top flight. However, with Ivan Toney unavailable for an extended spell, there may be more rotation than usual in Brentford’s starting line up at the start of the new season which could open the door for Lewis-Potter.

Brentford fans shouldn’t forget just how exciting an arrival the England under-21 international was last summer and should have high hopes that a fully fit Lewis-Potter, with a full pre-season under his belt, can hit the ground running this season.
