Jota netted 11 Championship goals in 2014/15 and could stand out in Scotland.
The fact that Mark Warburton is at Rangers in the first place proves something isn’t quite right with the way Brentford are being run at the moment.
Despite guiding a club who had spent the previous 21 seasons at third tier level or lower to the Championship play-offs at the first time of asking, the popular Bees boss departed Griffin Park at the end of the 2014/15 season after disagreeing with the owner’s desire to implement a more ‘statistical’ approach to scouting.

Brentford dropped from fifth to ninth the proceeding campaign and, currently standing in 14th, the rot appears to have set.
And, to make matters worse, The Scottish Sun reports that The Bees are ready to recall fans favourite Jota from his loan spell at La Liga outfit Eibar, only to flog him immediately. Oh, and the club they’re reportedly ready to sell him to? Mark Warburton’s Rangers of course.
And, this being the modern world, Brentford fans have taken to Twitter to express their growing displeasure with the way a club that had been so close to the Premier League continues to slink down the league on the back of directional changes that can best be described as baffling.
Would Brentford, a side who haven’t stepped foot in the top flight since two years after World War Two ended, be travelling to Old Trafford on Stamford Bridge on a seasonal basis had they kept Warburton at the helm and Jota in their midfield? We’ll never know for sure but they certainly would have had a better chance.

Rangers fans, meanwhile, they’re just happy to see one of the most exciting Championship players in recent seasons rock up alongside his former boss.
