Aston Villa are said to be very keen on Brentford’s Neal Maupay, with Dean Smith discussing signing him.

Brentford fans think that Aston Villa target Neal Maupay is ‘definitely off’, after he was left out of their side yesterday.
It was noticeable that Maupay was not in Brentford’s squad for their friendly against Norwich City last night.
And Bees boss Thomas Frank did little to quash the rumours that Maupay, who is said to be rated at £20 million by The Sun, could join Villa.
“Maupay we know the speculation around him so we thought it was best to focus on the guys we took to Norwich,” he said to the club’s official website.
Bees fans now are starting to think that Maupay is definitely off, amid the links with Villa.
If Maupay does join Villa he will become the second player that Dean Smith has bought from his former side this summer.
Villa have already brought in Ezri Konsa to bolster their defence.
Maupay would arguably be a bigger loss than Konsa to Brentford, as the French forward was their top scorer last season, and is one of the most dangerous front men in the Championship.
