Brendan Rodgers has told the Scotsman that Celtic need to sign another centre-back in the January transfer window.

Celtic have been the dominant force in Scottish football once again, and recently broke the record for the longest unbeaten run, after racking up 63 games without defeat.

Rodgers still has some concerns over the quality of his current squad though, and believes it could be strengthened.

The 44-year-old boss claims that Celtic definitely need to improve at the back, but finding an available centre-back is proving problematic.

“There is no doubt that we need to get in another centre-half,” Rodgers said. “The problem for me is availability of players but it’s something we are looking at.”

The Scotsman have mentioned how Reading defender Liam Moore is the latest player to be linked with a move to Parkhead.

Moore has reportedly impressed Rodgers through his performance in the Championship, and he could be brought to Celtic at the next opportunity.

Celtic have been forced to use players out of position in defence so far this term, with the likes of Nir Bitton having to fill in on occasion.
