During his time at the Hoops, the Scotland international winger has won the Scottish Premiership title seven times, the Scottish Cup on four occasions, and the Scottish League Cup thrice.
Celtic manager Rodgers has revealed that he wants the 27-year-old winger to sign a new contract with the Bhoys.
The former Liverpool manager has also stated that Forrest – who earns £14,000 per week as salary, according to The Daily Star – and his agents will speak to Celtic about a new contract.
Rodgers told The Scottish Sun about Forrest: “James and his people will be speaking with the club and likewise a player we would love to extend here because he has been absolutely brilliant in my time here.”

Forrest has improved much under Celtic manager Rodgers over the past two seasons, and it would make sense for the Glasgow giants to sign 27-year-old winger a new contract.
The Bhoys are aiming to win the domestic treble this season and will also feature in the Europa League.
