Celtic secured their progression in the Champions League with a win over Astana on Wednesday.
Brendan Rodgers has urged Celtic fans to be patient with his squad, speaking to the Daily Mail.
The Scottish champions progressed to the Champions League play-off round on Wednesday as they beat FC Astana.
They had to wait until late to secure the win though, with Moussa Dembele coming off the bench to win and score a late penalty.
Before then it had been a frustrating watch for the Celtic fans who had seen their side pegged back after Leigh Griffiths had handed them the lead before half time.
Nonetheless they got the job done, and Rodgers has urged the fans to show trust in his team as they continue to improve.
“The only thing I would say is that, they [the fans] were unbelievable for us, but they need to show a bit of patience, as well,” he told the Daily Mail.
“I’m a Celtic supporter myself, I know what they want, I know how desperately they want it, but they put the players on edge at times tonight.”
It now remains to be seen whether Celtic can make it into the group stages of the competition after their success over Astana.
They will likely face a tough test in the final qualifying round, but will be full of confidence heading into the clash after their last-minute winner in this round.
As with this tie, much is likely to rest on the result they can get at home, with Rodgers sure to be hoping the second leg is at Celtic Park once again given how that has worked for them so far.
