Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers has confirmed to the Daily Mirror, that he is still looking to make additions in the January transfer window.

Celtic have already brought in Marvin Compper from Red Bull Leipzig prior to the window opening, as Rodgers looks to improve his defensive options.

However, Rodgers insists that his spending is not finished yet, with Compper one of a number of new players he hopes arrives at Parkhead next month.

Celtic are also aiming to keep hold of the bulk of their current squad, as they look to build on their success over the initial part of the campaign.

Celtic Manager Brendan Rodgers celebrates at full time during the Ladbrokes Premiership match between Hearts and Celtic at Tynecastle Stadium on April 2, 2017 in Edinburgh, Scotland.

Moussa Dembele has been heavily linked with a move away from the Glasgow club, with Brighton & Hove Albion touted as potential suitors.

But Rodgers insists it is far from a foregone conclusion that Dembele will leave Celtic in January.

“I can never stand here and say someone is definitely going to be here because you could get a ridiculous bid for a player and a situation arises when they’re offered much more wages and they want to go,” Rodgers said.

“At this stage he is still very much a Celtic player. At this moment in time the squad is still very much intact and we want to add to it over the course of the January window.”

Moussa Dembele celebrates his 2nd goal (Celtic's 4th) during the Betfred Cup Semi-Final at Hampden Park on October 21, 2017 in Glasgow, Scotland.

Dembele has scored eight goals in 20 appearances for the Bhoys so far this term, with his stock rising.

The French youth international is considered one of the brightest talents in Scotland, and Celtic could face a fight to keep hold of him over the coming weeks.
