Celtic have been active in the January transfer window, but they still have business to do.

Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers arrives prior to the Ladbrokes Scottish Premiership match between Celtic and St Mirren at Celtic Park on January 23, 2019 in Glasgow, Scotland.

Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers has admitted to the Scotsman that he has made contact with Premier League managers over bringing players to Parkhead, but had no luck.

Celtic are in the market for additions, and felt that there were some players in the top flight who could have aided their cause.

However, Celtic were told by English sides that they had no intentions of loaning the players they asked about to them.

“You can only really get them in if they are available,” Rodgers said.

“I have been in contact with some Premier League managers, building up to January, and they just have no interest in letting out any of their players this month because they can’t replace them.”

Celtic have still done business in January, despite the difficulties finding available targets.

The Bhoys have brought in Timothy Weah and Vakoun Issouf Bayo so far this month, but other additions have proven more difficult.

Celtic are still thought to be looking for a right-back, while a central defender could also be on their wishlist, according to the Glasgow Evening Times.

Celtic are next in action later this evening, when they take on St. Johnstone at Parkhead.
