Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers has explained the goalkeeping situation at the club to the Daily Mail.
There is something of a confusion about who is the Hoops number one this season, with nobody sure who holds the jersey.
Craig Gordon has held the position for a number of years but the arrival of Dorus de Vries in the summer transfer window has cast doubt on his position.
The Dutch goalkeeper is a former favourite of Rodgers and it was felt that his ability to play out from the back meant he could be replacing Gordon this season.

Indeed, the fact that De Vries was recently preferred for the clash with Barcelona in the Champions League may have indicated who Rodgers prefers.
Now, the Celtic manager has moved to try and clear up the situation.
“Was Dorus No 2? Was he No 1? That wasn’t really my thinking,” he told the Daily Mail.
“I never really wanted to pinpoint if I had a No 1 or No 2. It’s just like the outfield players. If you’ve Leigh Griffiths playing as the only striker all season then he doesn’t get pushed. Everyone needs a little push.”

It remains to be seen which goalkeeper that Rodgers does decide to go with in the long term.
At this moment in time, the favour seems to be with De Vries given the previous working relationship he has with the Celtic boss.
Dropping Gordon would be somewhat harsh, though, given he has performed more than adequately over the last few years for the Scottish champions.
