Celtic boss expresses his delight at extending midfielder’s contract.

Rogic extended his contract last week until 2023, ending speculation over his future.
He had been linked with a move down south to England and Celtic boss Rodgers is excited they managed to get him to commit his future to the club.

Rodgers says he feels Rogic is going to get a lot better, and the timing of the deal is key.
He said: “It is brilliant news for the supporters that Tom is staying and great for him. You think 25 to 30 is when you are making lots of improvements as a player and that is your asset age.
“When you develop a player for a couple of years you don’t want to lose that experience, you can be back to square one. He’s improving really well and he still has lots to improve on.”

Rogic scored eight goals for Celtic this past season and provided nine assists, playing a key part in their treble success.
He is also set to play a key role for Australia at the World Cup this summer and this could attract potential interest in his signature.
That is why getting a deal over the line now was so important for Celtic, ensuring his head won’t be turned – or if it is, they are in a strong position to benefit financially.
