Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers has told Sky Sports that Leeds United give teams space to exploit.

Rodgers made the comments ahead of the Premier League game between Leeds and Leicester at Elland Road in the Premier League on Monday evening.

Former Arsenal and Aston Villa star Paul Merson believes that if the Foxes can dribble past Leeds players and get behind them, then they will have a very good chance of winning.

Rodgers told Sky Sports: “Of course, Leeds give you space. They have a brilliant, really unique way of playing in the Premier League, but it gives you space and certainly something that he (Jamie Vardy) thrives on.”

Merson said on Sky Sports News (1:47pm, October 31, 2020): “When you skip past people against Leeds, you are in, you are in, and when you have got someone like Vardy who makes runs…”

Intriguing game tonight

Jamie Vardy is likely to start for Leicester, and the English striker could be a game-changer.

Leeds play a high-pressing game and are likely to be on the frontfoot right from the first minute.

However, the Whites do leave space behind and concede goals, and the Foxes could be very threatening on the counter-attack.

Leeds have conceded nine goals in six Premier League games so far this season, while Vardy has scored six goals in five league matches, according to WhoScored.

While the Whites will fancy their chances of winning the match given that they are at home, Leicester could eke out a point.
