According to the Mirror, Çağlar Söyüncü has impressed Liverpool Sporting Director Michael Edwards, as the Reds draw up a transfer shortlist.
The Mirror claim that Liverpool have a five-man shortlist as they hunt for a new centre-back, and Leicester’s No.4 is on the list.
Since arriving from SC Freiburg for £19 million in 2018, the 24-year-old has excelled in England.
Söyüncü has struck up a formidable partnership with Jonny Evans, and looks likely to be playing Champions League football with the Foxes next term.
Unsurprisingly, the Turkey international has the backing of ex-Liverpool man Brendan Rodgers, who now manages the £45,000-a-week man in the Midlands.
Back in 2019, the Northern Irishman waxed lyrical about Söyüncü’s quality.
Eurosport quote Rodgers as saying: “When you work closely with him, you see his quality. He had big boots to fill and he’s been very good in both games.”
Jamie Carragher has also spoken about his love for the Turk before.
In 2019, the Sky Sports pundit took to Twitter to express his love of watching Leicester’s colossal centre-back.
Söyüncü would be an incredible signing for Jürgen Klopp, although we can’t help but feel he’d cost an absolute fortune.
After Leicester charged Manchester United £85 million for Harry Maguire, we’d presume the Foxes would do the same for those wanting Söyüncü.
At 24, the Turk looks likely to be bossing things in the Premier League for at least the next decade, so Leicester have every right to charge what they want.
