Brendan Rodgers’s Celtic won against Partick Thistle in the Scottish Premiership on Friday evening.

Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers has told BBC Sport (21:50) that his side’s win against Partick Thistle on Friday evening was outstanding.

The Bhoys maintained their strong run of form in the Scottish Premiership with a comfortable 4-1 victory over Thistle away from home at the Firhill Stadium.

Stuart Armstrong scored twice, and Leigh Griffiths and Callum McGregor added a goal apiece.

Celtic manager Rodgers has praised his side’s display and has told BBC Sport (21:50): “An outstanding result for us. I don’t think Partick had conceded two goals in a game (before tonight).

“The first half was in fits and starts but we got a good goal [through Stuart Armstrong] and changed a couple of things at half time to help us in the build-up.”

Over the course of the 90 minutes at the Firhill Stadium on Friday evening, hosts Thistle had just 39% of the possession, took four shots of which only one was on target, and earned one corner, according to BBC Sport.

Visitors Celtic had 61% of the possession, took 15 shots of which six were on target, and earned five corners, according to BBC Sport.

The win means that the Glasgow giants remain at the top of the Scottish Premiership table.

The Hoops have picked up 40 points from 14 matches so far this season, 11 points clear of second-placed and Old Firm rivals Rangers, who have played two more matches.

Celtic will return to action on Tuesday evening when they take on Hamilton Academical at Celtic Park in the Scottish Premiership.
