Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers has suggested to The Daily Mail that the demands at the Glasgow giants are much more than those at Liverpool.

Rodgers was in charge of Liverpool from the summer of 2012 until October 2015 and almost guided the Reds to the Premier League title during the 2013-14 season.

The former Swansea City manager was appointed the Celtic boss in the summer of 2016, and he has been a huge success at Celtic Park.

The Glasgow giants won the domestic treble last season and could repeat their heroics this campaign.

Celtic's head coach Brendan Rodgers talks during a press conference in Brussels on September 26, 2017 on the eve of the Champions League group B) football match against RSC Anderlecht.

Celtic manager Rodgers has suggested that pressure and demands at the Hoops are much greater than they are at Liverpool.

Rodgers told The Daily Mail: “Celtic is one of the great clubs of the world. There’s a pressure here that’s different. You have to win every game.

“There’s not a club in England that has that. You can go to Old Trafford as Liverpool manager and get a draw and it’s not a bad result. At Celtic, there’s an expectancy to win home and away.”

More pressure

Celtic have the strongest team in Scotland, and it is only natural that the fans expect the players to produce strong displays every week.

Moreover, the Scottish Premiership is not a very competitive domestic league in terms of title challenge, and alongside Rangers, Celtic are the ‘Big Two’ in Scotland.
